Happy Friday!
I have been getting back into the swing of things here at I'm Perfectly Human. I finally feel on top of things again, which is a great feeling. I am excited for this weekend. Tonight I am changing the hair up a bit - remember when I talked about doing an ombre to my bob? Well, it was an epic fail - that's why you have not seen any photos. Ha! But tonight I am going to be getting extensions back and doing an ombre so we will see how it turns out!! :)
And then tomorrow morning I am going to be attending a women's breakfast with my church, which will be lovely. It is a little bittersweet for me because tomorrow is also the Annual Lupus Walk here in the Twin Cities and I am going to miss it this year. But at least I am missing it for a good reason! I'll be back in full effect next year with encouraging t-shirts and words for those facing that chronic illness.
Speaking of Lupus, I wanted to talk to you all about it and my journey. I've discussed it before but it was interesting as yesterday I was reading this article on the Women of Faith website from Christine Caine called The C Word. She was talking about her diagnosis with cancer and how God saw her through it all. And it just lit my spirit up to hear her honest emotions of things she experienced through it all and how God delivered her out. There is something so touching about honesty. When dealing with an illness, there are a lot of emotions that you will feel.
But in reading this something really stood out to me about what she said she did when she was going through it all. She said that she didn't surround herself with "worriers" but instead with "warriors." People that were going to speak positivity and the things of Christ into her life. People that were not going to allow her to sulk in a bad day, but lift her up and continue to exclaim good things over her life.
It got me thinking.
"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength."
-Isaiah 40:29
"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength."
-Isaiah 40:29
Ever since I started to live my life for Christ something did change in my journey with Lupus. I used to feel so alone and hopeless. I used to worry all the time about what if it got worse.
I played the what if game a lot.
I remember always feeling like I was on a roller-coaster. It was a roller-coaster of thoughts and I really needed God to lift me off of this roller-coaster and place my feet on stable ground, and that is His word and what He says about me and my life in Him.
Understanding His promises put me in a different space with this disease. It allowed me to see myself through His eyes, understand that there is a silver lining in this. There is beauty to be seen in my story, and ways that this could be touching and helping someone right now. I received faith, by hearing His word. By saying His word out loud to myself, by surrounding myself with those that spoke and continue to speak life, health and positivity into my very being. I know that He is my healer and I know that I am able to see each and every day because of Him. I thank him for all that He is and does for me and I believe in the power in the name, Jesus.
I am so thankful for those warriors that continue to walk by faith and sow it into others.
Which leads me into this month's sponsor, Shannita @ By Faith Accessories.
"By Faith Accessories was inspired by a time in my life when I was going through a lot. My faith was being tested, but just when the thought to give up would cross my mind. I would see an encouraging sentiment, a bible passage on a piece of clothing or jewelry along with a smile and/or hello. And I would be reminded of my faith also that Jesus was with me."

"I think I'm unique in the jewelry space because I try to incorporate not just jewelry, but also pieces that reflect the Christian faith and at the same time are fashionable. This is not always easy, but I love hunting for them."
