Friday's Fab Favorites!

Happy Friday!

We've made it another week, and one more day closer to spring! Although technically it's spring, our weather isn't showing it. So its boots and blazers for us still in my neck of the woods.

But that's okay because today I'm showing you a fave blazer of mine, this polka dot piece!
And yes I have paired it with another new fave of mine, this thrifted chambray skirt!

Psst...Can I share my new love for polka dots?

If you saw my last post (here) with my spring must haves, you would have noticed a reoccurring theme - Polka dots! I've never really been a dots girl, but lately I have noticed that my eyes are gravitating towards dots when it comes to choosing cute prints for my baby girl.

So...

It's only fair that mama tries them on too, right?!

...Can I also share my obsession with this chambray skirt?

I am embarrassed to say that I am remixing for the 3rd time since I found her
(Do you remember this post or this post?)

Polka Dot Blazer - Heartbreaker
Black Sweatheart Tank - Nordstrom Rack
Chambray Midi Skirt - Thrifted
Black Booties- Shopreflection.com
Teal Antique Necklace - F21?

They have both become recent faves!
You know what else is a favorite thing for me?
Smiling!
When I begin to think on the goodness of Jesus, and all of the beautiful things God has done in my life it fills me with joy. He is truly amazing and without Him I know I would not have the peace and joy I have today.

What are your favorites or must haves this time of year?
Are you struggling with a lack of spring weather like me?

Today I am co-hosting Friday Fab Favorites Link-Up with Miss Lauren from Style Elixir!

In Due Time

Happy Humpday!

Hope you are all having a great week!
Don't forget to enter to win $520 in Paypal Cash!

I am getting closer to my return to work date, and I am getting sad as each day passes. I don't want to leave my baby girl now! I have so much respect for mothers who work and have to be away from their children.

How do you do it?

I know in due time I will be able to have a better working situation, where I can spend more time with my baby girl. There's a lot of situations in life that we have to be patient for, because in due time things will come.
Its funny because so many people I know feel that once they've hit their mid to late twenties and are not exactly where they had pictured their lives to be that somehow they've failed.
Not realizing you'll get there in due time.
What does "due time" even mean?
Oh how easily it is said, but sometimes so difficult to PATIENTLY wait.
Due time is all about the appropriate time, the proper time, the perfect timing, the right time.
I've been there, too. Wondering what do I need to do to catch up?
But God told me, catch up to who?
Here I am thinking if I don't move up in my career, get that promotion, become an entrepreneur, buy a home, or have it all figured out by age 26, that I have somehow failed. But Jesus says not so.
He has a perfect plan for Jena.
He has a perfect plan for you (Yes, you!).
Our plans are not the same.
In fact they are so beautifully unique, with twists and turns so different yet intertwined and similar at times.

We must quit comparing ourselves because although we are all running a marathon, we are all on different courses.

We must understand that humbling ourselves and staying faithful to the course will get us much farther. Sewing good seeds along the way, will bring good back to us.
All in due time.

2 Month Photos + Let Your Light Shine Linkup #2

Happy Thursday!

Guess what?
Someone just turned 2 months!

Baby Grace likes to nibble on her hands.

She coos during her naps.

She loves music.

She gets frustrated during tummy time.

She's happiest in the early morning.

And she gets mad at me at times when I am trying to help her.

When I am trying to dress her or bathe her - she gets so mad because she has to be uncomfortable for a short while. She doesn't realize that I am doing these things to benefit her. She doesn't realize those moments are temporary and its all for her good.

God brought it to my attention, that at times we can act the same way.
We can get so mad and frustrated, crying and screaming in our moments where things in our life are uncomfortable. Not realizing those moments are only temporary.

Remembering Romans 8:28 helps us to remember no matter what the situation looks like, if you love God all things will work out for your benefit.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to his purpose."

That's pretty awesome that we have a God that just wants us to give all of our cares to Him and He will take care of them!

Are We There Yet?

Happy Tuesday!

First of all, I just reached 1,000+ followers on GFC! :)
Thank you! I'm super excited!
Welcome to all of my new readers!
I am so thrilled to have you be apart of my little world in this part of the cyber space. AND to all of my 'seasoned' readers that have been with me, thanks so much for your comments and words, they mean the world to me! I can truly call many of you friends :)

Can you believe its already the middle of March?
No, like seriously.
We are welcoming spring here soon (hopefully for us in Minnesota). It seems as though it was just yesterday that we were making New Years Resolutions! I'm going to take you back through the year so far over here at I'm Perfectly Human.

Now, how many of you have kept up with those? Come out, don't hide! My resolution I made (remember this post), was about following God's plan for me. Being flexible in whatever way He decided to lead me this year and just holding on for the ride.

And let me tell you with our new baby girl coming to us in January, see here, I was thrown into a bit of a worldwind. I had to hold on and trust that Jesus always knows best for my life. You know because God is the GPS and He doesn't necessarily always tell us where He's taking us.
He just promises that it will be really great when we get there.

Seems tough sometimes, but He wants to teach us to have faith and trust Him no matter what.
Sometimes its easy to fall into that "Are We There Yet?" attitude that the devil feeds us. You know the one where you start looking for shortcuts or pit stops. Anything to get out of staying in God's will.

The devil floods our minds with thoughts of destruction, to throw us off of God's plan and make us question why were even following in the first place. We have to recognize the thoughts as soon as they come to us, and choose not to believe them!

"This is taking too long, when will I ever get there?"
 "Is this the right route?"
"Maybe that wasn't God because I am not seeing what I want to be seeing. Maybe that was just me."
"There has to be another way, I'm going to try things my way."
"I must not be good enough, this must just not be for me"

The devil feeds us lies about ourselves. And in our time where we should hold onto faith in God's word and God's plan no matter what it looks like - the enemy attacks our minds with thoughts about ourselves that overtime we will begin to believe.

Ill call them the "I'll never" thoughts.
I'll never:
 find anything,
be on the right path,
be anything.
reach where I want to go,
 be happy,
find the one...
the list goes on.

But God says,
 Not So.

The enemy wants to lead us to a place of defeat.
"This is too tough, I give up."
But God is greater than him.
 He already has him defeated.
In those moments where we feel defeated, understand that doing it God's way will give YOU the victory!
Yes, I'm talking to you - the one on the other side of this screen!

Sometimes we have to come to the end of
ourselves, our way, our understanding
to finally learn that God knows best and it is Him we must follow to reach our perfect destination.
Yes, even after we make mistakes. We have to dust ourselves off and look to God.
We must trust in His word and His plans for us.
He never tells us to figure it out, He tells us to trust Him

So, here's your challenge - Get rid of that "Are we there yet?" attitude!
Choose to be happy through it all, stand firm and trust that God will bring you to that expected destination. Believe His word, not your friends/family/coworkers, because His word is the only truth. It is greater than any lie you are used to believing!

You can get through whatever you are facing with the Christ within you!

Hope you have a great day!
