Being Intentional

Happy Tuesday!

First, I wanted to say welcome and thanks to everyone reading, new and seasoned!
Thanks for reading, following my journey, and showing me love. You guys are amazing!

These photos were taken this past weekend. Baby Grace and her big cousin got to spend a day playing together.
If you follow along on Instagram, you saw the video they put together :)
Overall it was fun to just be silly with them and you find yourself doing that a lot when you have a child around! I literally had to put my phone down and all of its social media apps, emails, text messages, and so on. Lay it down and spend time. Jesus showed me that I need to be more present and more intentional with the ones I love.

So often we are juggling so many things, so many thoughts, so many priorities. Everything matters and so often we can get pulled into a whirlwind of matters and things. In those moments, we lose focus on what is most important in our lives.

The little faces that hold such innocence, the peaceful silence between you and God on the car ride alone, the smile from the barista at the coffee shop, the hearty laugh shared with a friend or spouse...

In just a split second, we can miss these moments. If we are not intentional.
Intentional to hold on to each portion of each day. Reminding ourself that this is the first and last time that we will ever encounter the day at hand. It will never come back around, this is our only chance to bask in that very moment.

Helping others, blessing others, watering others and realizing by doing this we will be filled.

"The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered."

-Proverbs 11:25

Being intentional to me means devoting time to spend with others. It means, doing the right thing and helping out even when it can be uncomfortable. Being intentional to me means putting down my phone to spend time with my family. It means planning business things better and more efficiently so that I can make Christ and my family my priority. I am a work in progress, but I believe this reminder is just what I need to hear.

What are ways you make sure you are intentional with God?
With friends? With Family?

I would love for you to share your thoughts!

- J

  2. Thank you so much! I know its so important to be present!! We are living in the present, not the past or the future. So that's where we need to put our focus!

  4. That is so hard sometimes - putting down the phone. I always want to capture photos and moments with my son, but sometimes it's even more important to just be present with him instead. Your daughter is a doll!

  6. Being intentional with my husband means, no cell phones at the table and since we can't see the tv from where we sit we get to just enjoy one another. Being intentional with God, means every morning I sit down, read and pray now matter how busy my day is or what is going on.

  15. Being intentional is a big goal of mine, too. For a long time, I just took life as it came and did things without giving much thought to them. Now I try to actively do things, intentionally knowing and understanding why.
