Hello to all of my new followers! 

I've just about reached 500 followers! I want to welcome you to the world of Jena. Where fashion trends meet the average girl and I talk about my life, the good times, the funny times, and everything in between. 

and..where it is okay to be perfectly human 100% of the time. 

Today, I wanted to show you new hair style (you like?)... as well as this new top I got recently. When I picked this up at a local store,

a personal favorite shop of mine, 

 my bf says that it didn't look like anything I would normally wear, 

before I started blogging.

 Annoyed, 

I found some truth in what he said.. 

That's because whenever I used to shop I would go straight for neutral colors. 

Blacks, Browns, Tans, Whites.. 

everything in my closet was drab..

 with the occasional pop of color. 

This year I really wanted to have a fresh start and change up my wardrobe. I always see such amazing pieces and colors but think, 

I'd rather have it in black.. 

Blahh..

So I decided that this year and so on I'm going for color.

Winter Blues...

Good Morning! 

As I sit here watching the snow fall I have mixed emotions. It's beautiful outside, it's January in Minnesota, its the coldest this time of year. I should be happy we are only getting another 1-3 inches  [today] but the consistent traffic and accident reports along with the occasional school delay make it a difficult pill to swallow. 

I've got the winter blues... 

This time each year, Minnesotans consider trading places with those living in more favorable parts of the country and world... 

I'll trade you my gloves, scarf, and hat for your sunglasses, two-piece bikini and beach towel.

No, I do not feel like the black sheep, in fact, I never experienced any middle child syndrome as most would say. Now, let me tell you about my sisters. 

I have 4 sisters, 2 brothers.

Yes, you read right. I am actually the middle child out of 7.

  Yes, Seven, Siete. 

They are all awesome. Especially the two sisters that helped to make this outfit post possible. My baby sis gave me this super cute leopard scarf, and my big sis bought this cardi, which has so much personality like me. 

I love my sisters!

Fact is: although we may have irritated each other a lot growing up.. and still do, sigh, we have really grown close over the years. I don't know what I would do without them! :) They are amazing. They listen when I need someone to talk to, I can share things with them that I can't tell everyone... I want to see them all succeed and live out their deepest dreams..

Another day closer to the weekend.. and guess what?  An outfit post! 

Don't get much better than that. Well, maybe it does, but hey that's all I can give you today.

I continue to apologize for the quality of my photos, but this is what I am working with. Santa didn't bring me a nice new camera with an expensive lense. I got the EVO, working on getting the IPhone - when my Sprint contract is up for renewal.. SO until then.. We all gotta deal..

This week I started classes, and although I am super pumped to be getting that much closer to ending my college career, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by it all. Tonight I get to go to my Finance class, 

woo -_- hoo. (Can you tell my excitement?)

I really need to get a positive attitude about this, 

yesterday I caught myself pounding the keys on my laptop 

as I was writing the discussion postings for my online classes. 

It may have been the $700 spent on textbooks earlier, but that's just a thought.

And that leads me to rant! I seriously just don't understand how these people can get away with this! Of course I usually rent textbooks because its just so much cheaper, but being the procrastinator that I am trying to change from being, I wait til the last minute to get books and then I charge them to my loans only hoping to maybe grab a used one.. 

But nah, all brand new texts ranging from $180 - $250.

And then they make you buy the packaged deal, which you don't even need once you get to class! Ahh, all in the sake of business and making a buck!

*takes deep breath,  lights candle, counts to 10*

I go through this every semester, and just need to let it out. Sorry if you feel like I'm yelling at you, I'm really not although my throat is now sore..

.... It's OK that I cooked the same meal twice for dinner this week.

...It's OK that I have been in PJs since the holidays began.

....It's OK that I constantly dream to be somewhere warmer than MN.


.... It's OK that I start Spring Semester classes on Monday and I still need to buy my books.

... It's OK that I had little luck at the Victoria Secret Semi Annual Sale this week. :(

This actually needs a bit of a story behind it. No, seriously. I was determined. I told you all how I got a VS Giftcard for Christmas. So as soon I saw the sale had begun, I went. I was there for over 2 hours. I tried on every bra in the building. NO LUCK. I got resized, as they say you are supposed to do that every 6 months. I tried on more bras, NO LUCK. I finally gave up after finding one that worked. I found a cute top from PINK and was super happy that their gift sets were all 50%. That was my experience. I'm not as mad because I didn't spend much especially due to the giftcard, but still!

The Calm.

For NYE 2012, I decided to have a little shindig at my house. It was fun and glad I got to bring in the New Year with my family and friends.

Sunday Funday we all woke and had breakfast and watched football. Just laying around with my girlfriends in PJ's and talking about everything we could possibly think about was relaxing.

After everyone left yesterday afternoon, me and the Mr. were able to get back to the calm that we are used to. We enjoyed the last few hours we could just hanging with each other before work.

Today, I'm lounging.
