Uniquely Made + #BloggerSaleMN

Happy Monday!
My weekend was amazing.
On Saturday, I got to participate in the #BloggerSaleMN with a few lovely Minnesota bloggers, and this is what I wore. It was great being able to officially meet these gals in person. What was so interesting is that I felt like I already knew them, of course I did a little 'blogstalk' prior to. :) However, I was pleasantly surprised that they were even more awesome than their blogs portrayed! It honestly made me feel like blogging is a pretty interesting thing.
Each website - everyone's own unique space, made by them showcasing who they are to the world.
I think its pretty amazing that God calls us to be uniquely who we are.
I am uniquely Jena, you are uniquely you!
And I am not supposed to be anyone else but who I was made to be.
In fact, I am not supposed to follow anyone else's steps to success but Jesus.
In my journey of faith I have began to realize that God has written a unique story for each and every one of our lives. Yes, you too! It's so annoying how society puts on pressures of following some sort of textbook pathway to success or happiness. Graduate from high school, go to college, get engaged, get married, buy a house, have kids, raise kids, so on and so forth...
If you haven't followed this path to a "t", people are generally asking what's wrong with you?
Or better yet, when are you getting married? When are you going to buy a home? When are you going to finish college? Its as if there are unwritten rules we must succumb to in this world.
My life definitely didn't follow those unwritten rules.
I worked full-time straight out of high school, and  ended up being a full-time student and employed full-time my entire college career. I had all odds against me, but I finished my undergrad at 25 (remember this?). But that didn't stop God from giving me a job in the buying office at a major retailer prior to my graduation! Although being an assistant buyer in the beauty world didn't turn out to be something I loved, I gained some well-earned experience and was able to move over at the same company into the interactive/marketing area - which I now adore.
I would have never guessed blogging would have been on my journey, either. I started this blog back in 2009 (remember this?) because I wanted to just have a space to showcase my clothes and talk about my life. On and off for a few years it grew and fell victim to my hiatuses. I wasn't truly dedicated to it. It wasn't until January of 2013 that I really took a serious turn in being motivated to posting to my online space. And it was driven by Jesus - how cool, right? I am now in love with blogging.
I guess what I am trying to get at is, I would have never saw myself in the place that I am in right now. Celebrating my first Mother's Day, having a loving man by my side, amazing family and friends, and enjoying my job, along with working on some personal projects as well (I cannot wait to let you guys in on this!) I am joyful, blessed, and
 loving an amazing God.

I would have never pictured that even though my life hadn't followed the stereotypical pathway to success that I would still be in a great place and moving towards the top. Loving every minute of it.

I would have never guessed that as much as we all try to fit in, we are made unique and special for a reason. That our stories are beautifully written, weaving in the good, the bad, and the ugly and all for great reason. Our paths are not textbook made, they are are uniquely made. You and me are uniquely we.

So I challenge you to embrace your unique paths! Although we don't always understand, there is a reason they twist and turn so wonderfully!

Going Deeper:
Psalms 139 is great read in relation to today's post.
Here are a few excerpts I love:

Psalms 139:3
"Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways."

Psalms 139:13-14
"For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

Another great one:
Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
