5 on Friday

Happy Friday!

I am so excited that the end of the week is here.
It honestly has felt like it would never get here. Have you ever had a week like that?

Well, anywho - thought I would share some things with you today and I hope you don't mind as a few of them are rants. Yes, rants. I generally come on here and try to empower myself and others and then there are days like today, where I'm so over the week I had - that I cannot wait to get home, throw on PJs, and watch the latest episode of horrible reality TV, while pigging out to ice cream and watching baby grace babble.

Its funny because I was literally talking to Jesus, basically complaining, and He's amazing because He allows me to get it out - but then to get over it! Now I've got to get it all out, and literally after I write this I will be sitting with my tub of ice cream completely over it.

Annoying things of the week:

ONE. People that like to hear themselves talk.
I swear at work, some people literally just like to hear their own voices. There is someone I know that literally repeats the same things over and over and I'm convinced it is because they like their voice and want others to hear them. It will be nothing of substance, sometimes even useless facts that they believe everyone else wants to hear. Or you know those people that just have to make a comment on any and everything. They can never not say anything, they must be heard. How annoying..

TWO. People that don't plan things.
Now that I'm a mommy and wife, its oober important that I put things on my calendar. Oh in the past I used to be a class A offender of this, but now I like to put things on my list ahead of time and know what's coming up that I need to be planning for. Also, needing a babysitter and all its imperative that I plan. When there is something spur of the moment it literally gives me a headache and annoys me - because I don't have that luxury anymore! For all of you single ladies that have mommy friends - please remember my rant
This can also apply to pop-up meetings that show up on your calendar 10 minutes before they start.. -_-

THREE. People that merge onto the highway going 20MPH.
Angry Angry Gif animated GIF
I kid you not, some woman did that this morning. Literally pulled in front of me and almost caused a 12 car collision because she didn't want to go the speed  of current traffic. This is a huge pet peeve. I used to be really bad with road rage, but thank Jesus, He has taken the rage out of me otherwise it would have been lights out for that lady! I kid, I wouldn't have done anything but been in a bad mood - and I have no time for bad moods so I just let it go. But its still super annoying...

FOUR. People who are all talk and no action.
Annoying Music animated GIF
It annoys me when people complain about things and never do anything! Like I remember at my old job, people would literally moan and complain all day about how this process sucked, or that process didn't make sense - but none of them bothered to look into changing or improving it! Do something or stay quiet. Thank you.

FIVE. When you realize you forgot your lunch and are forced to eat cafeteria food.
Angry Annie animated GIF
This is the most annoying, when you have something super delicious that you forgot and are now forced to whatever they have in the cafe.. No, I do not want day old hamburger meat... (Our cafe is very questionable..) Either that or drive somewhere and spend money on food you don't want.

All in all, TGIF is definitely in order.
Enjoy your weekend!!

5 On Friday: 5 Songs To Add to Your Summer Playlist

Happy Friday!

Today is the Friday before a much needed long weekend. Anyone else feel the same?
I am excited because as this month comes to an end, I am embarking on a new journey (moving) and it marks the start of summer (in Minnesota - 75 degrees out I'll take it).
My weekend will consist of packing, moving, unpacking, cleaning.... sigh, and hopefully somewhere in the mix I can fit in a nice long walk with the family and these festive fruits!

So because of the unofficial kick-off of the summer, I've been thinking of some good songs that would be perfect to add to your summer playlist! Perfect for running. I love music like this to run to on the treadmill.

Have an amazing long holiday weekend!
Enjoy & Be Safe :)

Floral Print + 5 Ways To Keep Happy

Happy Friday!

TGIF.
Hope the week is winding down for you. One thing that has definitely changed for me since having my baby girl is my schedule. Weekends used to be more relaxing. Now they are spent running all the errands I couldn't do during the week. When I get a free day, I sulk in it. But through it all, I gotta remain happy!
Ok, so by now you are either still feeling happy when you hear Pharrell's song, here, or you are completely over it. Either way, it has a good message and tends to instantly get me in a better mood. Which brings me to today's five on friday,
 5 ways to keep happy!

one. Think Happy.

Sounds easy enough, right? Stay positive. Think on good things, not bad things. The saying goes when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! It's not what you are going through, its how you go through it. Choose joy and happiness - it really is a choice. Some days it will feel extremely hard to rise above and stay positive, but in the long run you will be a much happier person. Sure if something goes wrong you may cry or pout about it - you may have to give yourself a few minutes to let a scream out; and then pick yourself back up and keep trekkin'! I honestly cannot remember the last time being sad, feeling sorry for myself, or being mad made me feel any better.
And it definitely never changed the situation.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
-Phillipians 4:8

two. Don't forget of where God brought you from.

Often times if I feel I am lacking, or I could be better - God reminds me of where He brought me from. What He brought me out of (remember this post?) and how I am doing a great job in my life. Sometimes we have to quit being so hard on ourselves and take a second and pat ourselves on the back. You might not be where you think you should be, but you are not where you started. If you are in a place where you feel you have hit rock bottom; there's no way to go but up, right? You can do this.

Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
-Deuteronomy 6:12

three. Do for others.

This is one of my favorites, because so often we are caught up in ourselves and our problems that we can miss how blessed we truly are. Hey, I've been there wallowing in self pity because I just wanted to cry about things that may not have been going my way. Get out and be a help! Maybe you make dinner for a friend, or offer a ride to a co-worker. It could be joining a volunteer group or babysitting for a family member. Whatever it is give of yourself and it will make you feel so much better. There's also the giving principle and it will come back to you :)

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
-Luke 6:38

four. Bask in life's precious moments.

I talked about this earlier this week, here. Its refreshing to just take it all in. Getting a really good cup of coffee or tea; and how the warmth hits your throat. For me it was eating spicy food last night, and how it hurts so good! LOL. Having family together for a Sunday dinner, sharing a laugh with a friend or co-worker. These are the important parts of life not those mundane routines, matters, and things we get so involved in. Enjoy these moments.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
-1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

five. Make time to do something you love.

Whether that is blogging, reading, praying, exercise, watching a good movie, listening to music, playing with your daughter, getting your nails done, doing your makeup, so on and so forth. Making time for yourself helps you stay sane, helps you balance, and usually makes you happy. Sometimes my happiest moments are running on the treadmill listening to upbeat dance mixes! I feel motivated, I feel like I'm on top of the world. Or listening to Beckah Shae (love her) and painting my nails. Or just chatting it up with God and knowing He's probably laughing at me :)

A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
-Proverbs 17:22
Whatever you are doing or going through,
Choose Happiness.

5 on Friday: All Things Baby Grace

Happy Friday!

My five on Friday is dedicated to the Mothers.

one.
What an honor.
To wake up each day and see this beautiful face.
Her laughs light up my life.

two.
God has trusted me to raise, look over, and enjoy her presence.

three.
In her eyes I see myself and the love of my life, A.
I see my mother, my father, my siblings, A's family.
I realize what it really means to be made in God's image and likeness - I see generations in her and know that parents experience this. That God would allow us to all look like legacies of people, to look like Him!

four.
In her smile, I see her future.
I see JOY.
I see LOVE.
I see PEACE.
I see the beauty and gift of a great GOD.
To be a mother, what a honor.

five.
She speaks babbles, that echo in my heart.
The love, the honor, the gratitude I have for such a precious daughter.
Miss Layla Grace, Mommy loves you!

To all the mothers new and seasoned;
Happy Mother's Day!
To my mother - I appreciate your hard-work, your dedication, all those little things you stay on top of. Your cooking, your cleaning, your listening, your love. I now know that it is an honor to be a mother just as much as it is to have a good mother.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Five On Friday - Laughter is theeee best medicine...

Happy Friday!!

This week cannot end soon enough for me! Did it feel like it was dragging for you as well? I've got so much going on for the month of May, but I am super excited for it. I'm moving, I'm planning a wedding - which is a list for a whole different post, so on and so forth.

I thought it would be nice to share the 5 funniest things about this week with you all. Sometimes its just good to smile.

See, what you don't realize is that I gave up on caring on like, Wednesday. And it's Friday. So, I don't care about a single word c.
one. This week is laughable. Everyday at work it has seemed like there is just way too much going on. It's EOQ and things just keep changing left and right and you can see the look on everyone's face that they've given up fighting against the changes. It's become a "just go with it" week. Those are the funnest, when absolutely no one gives a care anymore and is just waiting for Friday at 5pm to roll around.

Why, yes. I did just spend that 30 minute conference call pinning random things via my Pinterest app.
two. I couldn't stop myself from cracking up yesterday as I was telling a co-worker a story about a conference call I had back when I was on the buying team. We used one of those free conference call lines to meet with a new vendor. What was weird was that when we got on the line there was hold music playing in the background. We figured it would go away or the person would come on the line so we started the call. The music never stopped. Imagine someone pitching their skincare line to you, "The botanical smell ...." while there is elevator like music playing 'America the Beautiful' in the background. I literally almost peed my pants. My team was on mute and we couldn't contain our laughter. After a while of trying to be serious about her brand and speak with a music attendant - our vendor laughed and insisted we get another conference line.
I die just thinking about it. Best call ever.

three. Baby Grace speaks. If you follow me on Instagram you probably have seen the video where baby Grace just babbles. Well now she does it for a lot longer, and the faces she makes as she is trying to get out a sound are hilarious. She also tries to sing if you hum a note to her.
It's hilarious.

we make plans, god laughs......
four. God laughs at me. I'm positive He has a field day listening to me sometimes. This month has been so eventful and its 5/2! In my moments in the car driving from here to there, I feel like screaming. Then I hear God saying, "just give it to me." I laugh because I know that is exactly what I should do, but we are all so wired to complain and tell someone about our troubles when things get too overwhelming and tough! Breaking that nature is sobering. It makes me realize how much I am just programmed to do things a certain way, and that I should be more conscience about the words I say.  I found myself saying, "GOD HELP ME!" this week more than most.
He delivers. I heart Him!

We will continue having lots of meetings until we find out why no work is getting done.
five. Work meetings are funny. Ever since I've transitioned over to my new job last year, (remember this?) my mornings are so different. I went from being a late bird at 8:30am to coming in at 9:30am as the norm. This week we had a 9am meeting scheduled. It wasn't funny at first, I cringed thinking I'd have to get up and be here a half hour earlier. That morning as I rushed in, it was hilarious seeing people run from their cars to make this "early" meeting. Everyone showed up to the meeting with that "Are you kidding me?" look. On top of that, I've had a few pointless meetings this week. They fill up your calendar and then when you go, the entire time you are thinking you could be doing other work - get me out of here! Sometimes I think, why did I accept this meeting? Some things can be handled over e-mail!

Well, that's it for now!

5 on Friday.

Happy Friday!

Hope everyone is ending the work week on good foot!
I know I am :) I am going to get in on the Five on Friday link-up this week.

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

one. I've been so up and down in my feelings this week. But today I am declaring to choose Joy.

What will you choose?

two. I am excited to hang out with my mom and sisters tonight for my birthday dinner! We will be living it up at our fave Mexican restaurant. Cool, edgy, dive type of place - Lil' Tijuanas. Enchiladas here I come. Um, can someone say fried icecream as well? That's definitely got my name written all over it.

three. I'm obsessed with my new cell phone case. Yes, if you read my birthday wishlist, here, you would see I need a new case. My girlfriend, Aisha, got me one for my bday.
How can you not love teal or sparkles!?

four. This little peanut. She melts my heart on a daily basis.
Never knew motherhood could feel so good :)

five. Happy that its spring! But can we get some spring weather with this time of year? I just want to go outside - smell the fresh flowers and be carried away for a minute!
Is that too much to ask for?
I'll settle for this photo instead...
