Happy Tuesday!

I am sorry I have been absent on the blog the past couple days. Been keeping busy with the shop and remember the goal of using my planner? Well, that hasn’t happened quite yet. Hoping to get on top of everything this weekend!

However, today I wanted to share these amazing family photos with you all. We had the pleasure of working with a family friend, Jean Yang and she got some great shots of us all before the snow hit up here! I am so thankful we got them done, otherwise it would have been way too cold for baby Grace! Jean is great and picked the perfect little spot for us to gather. She even showed up with hot chocolate for us! Now that’s service ;)

Busy Gal, But Blessed.

Happy Tuesday!

I have to share with you all how blessed I am. Ever since I opened up my shop a few weeks back, I have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support I have received. For a long time, I believed I wasn't good enough, and that I didn't have anything to offer. I doubted my talents and gifts that God put in me, and it held me back. I would tell myself that I could never be like this person or never be like that person, and it brought me down. 

I have realized now, that I will never be like this person or that person. I will only be me and offer what I have been given. I will stand and shine in who I am and what I can bring to the table. I will stop comparing myself and my work to others. I was made uniquely to be who I am and shine bright in what I can be. 

Today, I wanted to share one of the newest custom order requests I am bringing to my shop - the Mommy and Me illustration. I love this. I decided to do one of me and baby Grace! (Can you believe she will be 9 months in 2 days?) 

I hope you enjoy it.

Patience + Let Your Light Shine Thursdays!

Happy Thursday!

Hope you all made it over the hump gracefully. It seems like it was just July yesterday and already September! Where has the time gone? Although the seasons seem to fade in lightning speed right now, it seems like some things in my personal life are inching by, bit by bit.

How many of you know when you focus all of your energy on something that you are waiting on, it seems to creep by? I am reminded of my days in grade school when we would watch the clock at the end of the day anticipating the end of the day bell. Every moment we glanced up it was as if nothing had changed and I swear the time went backwards with how dreading-ly long it took for the minute hand to make its way around the clock.

I am sort of experiencing something similar in my life right now. I have been given direction from God on where He is taking me and even some clues on how its going to happen. I've done my part, and now its time for me to have patience. Ughhh, sometimes that word can look so nice and pretty but be annoying at the same time.

Patience, is very important because it has to have its perfect work before things happen. Sometimes, when we are not patient, it can be like taking the dessert we are baking out of the oven early, and once it starts to cool there's no turning back. How frustrating to have done all that work and your little dessert or project doesn't turn out. But it was all due to patience.

I have to stand firm on Jesus and His word. I have to believe every ounce of Hebrews 10:36:
"For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise."

I have created this lovely printable for those of you in need of something positive to look at, that reinforces today's message. Patience is one of life's greatest keys. Very important.

So I love this blue dress. Its sleeveless and can perfectly go under a cardigan to transition into fall. Of course I had to pair it with the new fringe booties I have. These are amazing. I apologize now, because you will be seeing a lot of these and other fringe on the blog. I am working on a fringe DIY and can't wait to share that with you all as well! Oh and in case you missed it, I featured one of my very first digital illustrations on my Instagram and she is totally rocking the fringe!

Since this is a new avenue for me, I don't want to overload you all, but I am really excited! I am pumped with the amount of support I have been receiving and there are some really great ideas and projects in the pipeline!

And the white elephant in the room - my hair! I am in love with this new ombre look. 

I think its perfect for fall and I can't wait to try out different looks with it. So overall, a great week so far!

Slight Work + Let Your Light Shine Thursday!

I am so excited today, yesterday I received my Wacom tablet in the mail as a gift from a very dear friend of mine. For those of you not familiar, it is a digital drawing tablet! I am beyond thrilled to play around with it and so happy for amazing friends and family to help support me in this venture. You guys rock! (I'm sorry if I sound like a broken record, but I am ecstatic!)

I also wanted to share a few of the recent hand-drawn illustrations that I have been doing in my free time. My girlfriend told me to make it a point to draw something every day if I can - so I have been trying to keep up with that, even if it is something small.

Friday's Ramblings: #BeTrueBeYou

Happy Friday!

Thank you for your overwhelming response to my post, here, about me finding my true self, and just trying to be me. I find it sometimes difficult to stay true to yourself the way the world is now. So often our time is filled with looking at others through social media, television, and so on. We don't realize how often we are constantly comparing ourselves. Even in the smallest ways. The way we mother, the way we speak, the way we act and carry relationships with others all plays back to what we're fed. 

Man, We see what others are doing and instead of feeling confident in what we have to offer this world, we relish on that person, their abilities and start to take a disinterest in what we were purposed for. We find faults in our own work, we doubt ourselves, our abilities, until we are in a mode of stuck.

Put two people in a room and tell them to think about the same topic or jot down the first thing that comes to mind when you spit out a word and guarantee their ideas and thoughts will be different. They may even come up with similar concepts, but different words to say them and that is such a precious treasure that we must capture. We are not supposed to be just like our neighbor, or even like our parents or siblings.

I remember finding myself dwelling on how my raspy singing voice would never be like Beyonce's and my shape would probably never imitate her's either. I bottled up my voice, stuck it in a box and didn't look it for quite a few years. I always dabbled in graphic art and I loved it. When I didn't go to school for it or continue working with it, I felt like I was an imposter if I tried to do any art because I had seen other's work and our works were not the same. I looked at other's interpretation of art and figured because I wasn't practicing mine, that my talent was gone. I wasn't singing so the vocals were lost. 

But, Christ, man. 

He's amazing. He is truly the reason I am so open and willing to share my heart with yal. Through Him I have found my true identity and I am no longer afraid to just be me. So in keeping constant from my message this week, I was working on this print and I wanted to share it with you. It's more my style and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. In fact, I don't really care if you don't because I love it and its so me, that I may just print a few off and hand them out to people just to see a smile on their face from the message. :) I am going to be working on building up a portfolio and hope to start a small shop with these and possibly some stationary, because I just love this stuff man. You are the first ones I am sharing this with so I hope you understand where I am coming from and join in the movement of #betruebeyou
